The story begins on a mountain road in the middle of winter. Ken Polk is driving on that road when an animal runs out in front of him, he attempts to miss the animal and wrecks his car in the process. He struggles to get free from the car and once free is confronted by a pack of wolves who chase him into a cave. From that point on his nightmares just get worse.
