On December 23,1993, I was rushed into surgery. My intestines were severely obstructed. Food nor water would pass some unidentified obstruction. An exploratory operation was required. Doctors then found that my colon was so ulcerated that fingers of growth extended out of the colon and into the surrounding organs. I should have died. But God in His mercy, healed me in body, mind, and spirit.
When faced with dying, priorities change, then become clearer. I knew God had given me a talent or gift for Finances, but I was not using that gift for others. But that changed. One of the results of that change is this book. Thank God for having Publish America give this book a chance. It's meant to help you and your kids.
Praise your kids. It does wonders. The results, you might say, is a miracle.

As a CPA for 31 years, Wayne Y. Fujita has designed numerous successful business systems in diverse fields. He has been successful creating incentive compensation plans. Fujita has also evaluated college scholarships. He has been the Maui County Finance Deputy and Treasurer under four Maui Mayors. Fujita has taught personal finance seminars and workshops on Personal Financial Planning, including Family Budgeting, How to Save, Investing, How to Become Debt Free, and The $100,000 Scholarship. He has an ability to integrate family goals with business processes. The combination of government finance CPA, scholarship evaluator, and personal finance instructor produced the book’s innovative scholastic incentive system.
Fujita’s daughter, Lisa, was last year’s Miss Outstanding Teenager of Hawaii and his son, John, was Pacific University’s Chemistry Student of the Year. (John also won the University of Hawaii's Chemistry Student of the Year and another tuition waiver.) Both have sizable scholarships and tuition waivers. Fujita says, “The amazing thing is that when my kids were in elementary school they were average or just above average students. I had no idea how far they would go. If you as parents feel your kids are not exceptionally-gifted students, be prepared for a real surprise! All the kids need is a desire to grow their passion and parental encouragement.”
