A little controversial
thought on some extremely
difficult subjects for most…
the forgiveness of severe
childhood sexual abuse as
the only means of healing
from it and the Lord, who
gives the grace to do it… as
well as some teachings of
the Holy Roman Church, which
many do not understand at
all—or even see could be
healing for someone with
these kinds of issues.
She writes on the subjects
of chastity and celibacy
(why these are NOT the cause
of sexual abuse) and are, as
supported by modern
psychology, a healthy
expression of one’s
life-style and being, as
well as several other
important topics for these
times.
Ms. Chamberlain has only
intent for goodness—and by
opening her life, she knows
she has taken a potentially
difficult step. One of
her best friends, an
author/psychiatrist who also
wrote on similar material
(though from a clinical
viewpoint), told her,
“You’re walking into the
devil’s workshop.” She
asks anyone reading the book
and knowing the people
involved, to take the road
she has—forgiveness and
understanding that the
abuser, too, was a “victim
of abuse in his past”, and
that what might seem like to
some to be an
un-surmountable life
obstacle is not so for God,
who can heal anyone of
anything.
A controversial figure in
her time, Ms. Chamberlain
has been given insight into
the power of words to heal
and destroy by her life’s
circumstances… and wishes
her words to only be seen as
an offering to the God/Jesus
she calls “Spouse” through
the religious vows she has
taken, and hopefully, to
give another a “chance to
heal” as did she. The
book is liberally
illustrated with powerful
poetry.
In the words of St. Teresa
of Avila, those things most
worthwhile to the building
of God’s Kingdom are those
the devil tries hardest to
stop… this has very much
been the case in this
instance. But, Life
is an ongoing learning and
healing process. Be at
peace, fellow humanity, the
time of justification is at
hand.
