Friends from PA boards:
Bhawana, You bring a loving perspective here that is much needed. How I think that speaks the truth, but how many times are we "condemned," even here on this messageboard, for thinking outside the box, for being different, when I think all the various people of the world are so beautiful and difference and change is so much God's way.
I think Bhawana's posts point up the beauty of differences, differences we can learn from and grow from, so our faith becomes deep in our souls and not just what we grew up in, or were told to believe.
Another lovely thread here seems to have disappeared. I hope this one doesn't. After all, all the thousands of books our publisher has published are so varied, you would think our discussions would be welcome here, as long as they are done with respect for the variety of differences of the writers here.
I believe when one really listens to others, one finds a great deal of oneness, of similarity, of love and caring. I think Bhawana's book is valuable to everyone. We all need to learn about different countries and ways of believing in God. We need to make friends and I guess I believe somehow that will help us not become enemies. We don't have to all be the same when our hearts meet.
My husband just read me this statistic from a book he is reading,
"Two-thirds of all the people who have ever reached the age of 65 are alive today." Wow, Joyce Ann and Pier and me, that means there is a lot of wisdom and experience in this world and with the great communciation we now have, we can communicate with those far younger. You know, life today is not so bad. I kind of like it and am glad to be in that two-thirds, mostly glad to be still alive, still traveling, still enjoying life, and able to comunicate with those far younger like Bhawana with wisdom and experiences I can learn from

Bhawana,
I would equate the killing of Ghandi Ji to that of Jesus Christ, Martin Luther King, Abraham Lincoln, men who walked upon this earth, but whose lives had meaning and whose influence has reached and will reach thoughout the centuries. And while most of us have written books we believe in at P.A.-- yours is unique and should appeal to the wide and growing Indi population here in the States, so that one day some of us will say, "who? the famous Indian writer Bhawana Verma, sure --I knew her when"..." What I meant by that Bhawana will be well known in the Indian population- is simply this. No one can really appreciate your writing and enjoy it as much as someone who comes from the part of the country you write about --a perfect stranger came upon Le Cafe' de Cadix by chance on Amazon, bought it and read it until he was finished late into the night... he told me later he laughed and cried, he has since told others... who now want me to have the book translated in French, while another young person there has since e mailed me that she will take le cafe to the big "Book fair" in Toulouse in the Southwest of France. And let's hope that one day Bhawana 's book might be translated in Indi and then she will be a famous author in India as well, and I ask you, what's wrong with that?

Great thoughts, Bhawana. I suspect Gandhi really followed the Sermon on the Mount as well as he could, and I also think that it is the essence and the inner meaning or spirit of a particular faith or calling that matters, not the external name. That's why you and I and Pier and Carol, Jackie, Ron and Anne, Betty, James I and II, and all others (can't name them all) who may have a different faith or faith experience can still find so much in common and contribute to the spiritual thread.

Well I admire Ghandi and all men and women who preach a peace without bloodshed. True respect and love for humanity is what these great leaders preached. Ghandi, Martin L King, Mother Theresa, Schweitzer. Unfortunately they are outnumbered by the so called religious leaders who preach love, and faith in God but only know how to kill and wage wars.
Good seems to be out weighed by evil. However I have hopes that the good will prevail.

Dear Bhawana,
Out here in the country, the animals are always hungry for information about the Wide World. I will tell Wooffer all about Diwali and he will tell all the animals. I know that they will all have a lot of questions for tomorrow. Could you tell me a little about your New Year holiday, it's history, and what the traditions are? I am sorry, I know very little. What do you do to celebrate? Do you have fireworks? You must tell everything about it because we all want to know. Our best love to you, Bhawana.
Love, Betty, Wooffer, Mr. A. A. Corn, Old Agnes, and Marygrey and the rest of us. _________________ Betty Fasig Wooffer www.wooffer.com/
