Justin and Sandra return from their honeymoon to find that Captain Wolf has  been suspended, forcing Lieutenant Jeremy Philo to step up as head of the department, pending an internal investigation.  As their original investigation resumes, Justin discovers that there is something not quite right with the investigation of his father’s accident.  The deeper Justin and Mike dig into the investigation, the bigger the web of evil gets, even as Pastor Andover tries to explain some of how evil works.  Witnesses are reluctant to help the detectives in any way.  Because Justin and Mike feel like they’re being watched, they keep looking over their shoulders.  This causes anger and frustration to plague Justin as one thing leads to another.  On returning from giving a deposition, his partner, Mike, is involved in an automobile accident leaving him out of the loop.  Justin finds himself undone and wondering what could happen next.
