FINALLY! A BOOK OF POETRY WITH SUBSTANCE!

From the Intellectual Mind of South Florida’s Own, Antwian M. Crawford

by: South Florida's Westside Gazzette

A Look Into My Third Eye, which means a look into my thoughts, is a 123 page collection of poetry, written by Antwian Marcel Crawford, also known by his pen name, Intellect that is broken down into four different categories. The first category is called Love, because when romantics think of love, they think of poetry. The second is called Life, because in this category there are poems written about things that all of us can relate to in our everyday lives. The third category is called The Message, because each poem was intended to give a message that the reader could learn from or be reminded of in life’s journey. Finally, the last category is called The Spirit, because Mr. Crawford believes that God is hard at work in everyone’s lives and he wants to share some of that inspiration through his poetry.

This book displays many different styles of Mr. Crawford’s poetry, such as Free Verse, Quatrain, Haiku and Linked Verse, to name a few. It most certainly has something in it that will appeal to everyone because the reader will be able to relate to it in some way, shape or form. His poetry instructs, inspires and entertains with a unique voice. “I feel that I’m one of those people who has faced and overcame the hardships and obstacles in life and have turned the stumbling blocks into stepping stones,” says Antwian. Mr. Crawford has been writing for 18 years and writing poetry for the last 11 years and enjoys it very much because it is a “limitless form of expression,” he says.

Mr. Crawford is also the webmaster and editor of his own award winning poetry website, The Underground Poets Society (The Un.P.S.). The Un.P.S. was founded in the year 2000 to display his poetic talents as well as the work of other poets all around the globe with guest poets and The Annual Underground Poets Society Poetry Contest. The website focuses on, but is not limited to, poetry written by people of color from all nationalities. The site also features The Un.P.S. On-Line Open Mic, which is an on-line community dedicated to poetry as well as short stories and essays. The site can be found at www.TheUnPS.com.
