 Background Information

Shannon Stafford was born in Huntsville, AL in 1976. After residing in North Alabama until the age of 10 she moved with her parents to an island in the South Pacific called Kwajalein, where she resided for four years. Just in time to start high school Shannon and her family returned to North Alabama. She attended high school at Bob Jones HS in Madison, AL. Upon graduating in 1994, it wasn't long until she had her son in June of 1996.

Shannon began writing at the age of 12 after being introduced to poetry by an English teacher. Since then writing has been an escape and a way of expressing herself. It wasn't until 2003 that she put together a collection of her poetry and began submitting it to publishers. Shannon found out in early 2004 that her book had been accepted to be published by Publish America.
