After reading Miss Stafford’s new book of poetry I am convinced this lady has what it takes to touch the soul in ways others have tried and failed. She captures heartache to the point where you as the reader can feel her pain and want to wrap your arms around her to comfort her in her time of need. In her poems describing the terrible tornado that pummeled her neighborhood, you can feel the terror as she watches the devastation unfold around her. And in her passionate love poetry you desperately want to be the subject of her affections, and all her heart has to offer.
Miss Stafford offers something for everyone and takes no prisoners. Well worth the price of admission, and a joy from cover to cover.

When I read “Inspiration Through The Years”, I read it as a complete stranger to the author. Shannon shows us pieces of herself through her poetry and songs. We learn about her happy and her sad times. We see the importance of her family through her writing. We see how life has been tough to the author at times, but we see her strength. I found myself relating to the author and her experiences. Her writing is fantastic. After you read this book, you will find yourself no longer a stranger to the author. You will become her friend and you will hope for her happy ending.

The poetry book "Inspiration Through The Years" brings together what love is like, be it love of family, friends, or a person of the opposite sex. It tells of the heart break that goes with rejection and the joy of having your love returned. It is well written and sometimes make you want to cry, at other times make you smile and say I have been there. Most of all, like all good poetry it moves the emotion. As a poet and author myself, I sincerely recommend it.

Ms. Stafford has written her life in prose. There is joy in many of her poems, but much sadness is found, also. There are touching tribues to each parent and grandparents are not left out. I found her poetry full of feeling and easty to understand. Love found and lost seems to be the overall theme, with tributes to children and others. Any woman who has been through a divorce will feel the poems as they read. I would recommend this book to all poetry lovers.

Shannon Stafford reveals so much of her life in this collection of poetry from the heart. You will feel her heartache, enjoy her family values and know the healing a loving family can bring in times of pain. I was caught up in her poem "Questions" as she speaks of her son and all that she opes for him in his life. Poetry is truly an insight to ones soul and after reading Shannon's book, you too will find yourself pondering lifes everyday questions.
If you enjoy poetry then I say you must read this book of Shannon's for it will inspire you as it did me.
