Background Information:
Samia, born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan, graduated from Happy Home School in 1982. Attended Khatoon-e-Pakistan College and graduated in Pre-medical in 1984. Later, joined Central Institute of Arts and Crafts and graduated in Commercial Arts in 1988. After that enrolled in Karachi University and graduated obtaining a degree in Bachelor of Arts.
Samia, migrated from Karachi, Pakistan to Toronto, Canada in March, 2003. Her Parents and rest of the family are settled in Detroit, Michigan. There are two brothers and three sisters, and she is the fourth child.
Now currently, settled in Windsor, Canada, where she is busy writing for children, after graduating recently in a creative writing course in "Writing for Children and Teenagers " from The Institute of Children's Literature, as well as working on some new concepts of poems for her forth coming releases. |

Accomplishments:
During childhood, she got hooked on reading and as time passed, this habit gave birth to her inborn knack of writing poetry and short stories for all ages. She has been writing poetry as an outlet to express her emotions.
Shortly, after she started writing poetry since her college days in 1984, she was pleasantly surprised when her 1st short story was selected and published in the national daily in Pakistan (The Dawn). Afterwards, a number of her poems and prose were printed in various magazines and newspapers.
In 2003, Samia was awarded "Editor's Choice Awards " for her two poems, which reached the semi-finals in the poetry contest by poetry.com and were published in the hardbound anthology "The Colors of Life " by The International Library of Poetry.
In 2004, Samia compiled her tremendous collection of traditional poetry into a book, titled,Visions of the Soul. It was published and released by Publish America on January 23, 2005.
Originally a talented graphic artist, Samia has morphed through several different forms of creative expressions, but writing poetry gives her a unique perspective as an artist.

Personal themes based in poetry are anger, heartache, depression, death, hope, love, inspiration, longing, loneliness, joys, sorrows and portrayal of bitter-harsh facts on realities and personal experiences.
Have an assortment of hobbies----travelling, reading, writing, photography, designing, painting, cooking, music, movies, computers and ofcourse pets.
