Good Grief, a Novel by Long-Time Reporter and PR Practitioner,
Tells of Battles with Grief, Anger and Frustration
SAN DIEGO, Calif. -- After a long career writing thousands of words of non-fiction as a reporter and later as a public relations and advertising executive, and working as a ghostwriter, Thomas G. Rees is spending more time on writing fiction. And ghostwriting. His novel, Good Grief: A Parson's Tale, is available now. An audio book version of Good Grief is due out in 2005. Rees, who has voiced numerous commercials and worked in both TV and radio, will do the reading.
Rees and his wife, Alexsandra, a Native American artist known professionally as Sandy Whitefeather, live in Southern California. She also is a writer and lecturer and provided extensive editing for Good Grief. They are at work on two series of books. "Somebody Special..." is the first of several small inspirational self-help books; the second is a series of Southwest cookbooks. And they are working on the sequel to Good Grief, entitled The Bishop Wore Spurs: A Bishop's Tale, which is set in Tucson, Arizona. The couple were ghostwriters on the well received non-fiction book Preserving Traditions: The Pascua Yaqui Tribe from Pre-History to High Technology.
"Good Grief is a book with broad appeal, says Tom Rees. "It shows that ministers are only human and can have their own problems coping with life. It also deals with various health issues like Alzheimer's and overweight, and shows the older generation striving to come to grips with the modern world of computers and cell phones. It peppers the serious side of life with large doses of humor."
