| Self Denial | Self Denial is the journey of one incomparable woman from Nazi Germany to the American Deep South. Betty Sturmer remains a survivor through it all. Born to a Jewish mother and a converted Christian father, Betty grew up in Hitler’s Germany. After overcoming insurmountable odds, she immigrated to America with her Jewish husband. They both recanted their heritage for the sake of their future children, only to find that being Aryan came with a different set of problems.
