WHO AM I ?

Jacquelyn
It means funny,
helpful and loving,
It is the number
seven, God's
perfect number,
It is like the
grass and the
beautiful trees
And like
Christmas day
in the Islands,
In memory of
Grace Green,
my Grandmother,
Who taught me to
love all equally,
and never give up,
When she took
care of us,
while my parents
worked.
My name is
Jacquelyn
I believe it's
good to live,
love, and
laugh a lot!

IF I’M YOUR DREAM

If I’m your dream,
like it seems,
and you are mine
‘til the end of time,
we will live just like
Nature’s evergreens,
never letting our
love fade with time.

If, in your dreams,
I fill your thoughts
and love you with
love never lost,
we will merge our
dreams and find
true happiness there.

When we are one,
life is fun,
with eyes that glow
and hearts so true
forever,
If I’m your dream.

A Mother's Love

A mother's love
is strong with
affection
More than you will
ever know, Always
a special bond
and That
will always show
A mother's love is
filled with
Hopes and dreams
for you
As she watches y
ou succeed
And supports in
all you do
A mother's love is
unconditional
and special
The reason that I know,
is easy to define
I have that kind
of love from
a Mother I am truly
proud to say
is mine....

GIRO CITY

Life's not good
in Giro City,
Mass unemployment
Poverty, strife,
Where you're labled
underpriveledged
The dregs of
Urban city life!

Maybe we just
lost our way,
Thro' a haze of
drugs and drink,
Another step to
self destruction
That drives you
to the brink!

The drugs did help
for a while
Till the cravings
it got worse,
Can no-one now
rid me,
Of this spiralling
clinging curse!

My home is now
some cardboard box
I some draughty
cold back ally,
Hell on Earth
is how I live,
In what we call
Death Valley!

No home no food
no prospects,
Long lost fools,
More's the pity
Now I hang my head
in helpless shame,
Alone again on the
Streets of Giro City!

The Prince of Words

You are the prince
of ponytails
and ribbons
with bare feet
chasing rainbows

you are the prince
of first sighs
and giggles
of moons and
swoons dreams

you are the prince
of white veils
and bouquets
and happily ever
promises' sureness

Prince of oceans
that ebb and flow
and rage
with all the powers
of Poseidon

you're prince of tears
whenever tragedy
cuts deeply
cruelly without
thought or reason
your only domain
is the world of words
and within it
you are the prince

Roger L. Scott his imagination to create an escape from the hardships he faced in life. His favorite programs were of the famous cowboys of the time such as Roy Rogers, Gene autry, and the Lone Ranger. These stories of the Wild West influenced him to this day as evidenced in his book. He writes as a tribute to those hardy men who rode the West with just their horse and guns, carving out a civilization and establishing laws where none had existed before.
His poems open up the world of cowboys, gunslingers, and lawmen…all to show how the West was won through the
blood and sweat of those early pioneers..

One day I wrote a poem, knowing nothing of poetry except snatches of poems I heard all my life. And many of the poems I read were too hard to understand. I grew up appreciating all of the arts, but I came to enjoy writing poetry more than I had ever imagined, and not obscure poetry either, but easily understood work. In this book I have tried to gather poems to which anyone can relate. I write from the viewpoint of people with all different emotions and obvious fantasy. I leave it to the reader to discern, apart from the obvious fantasy, works which are fiction and which are based in reality. Prepare yourself to be entertained and if you are emotionally moved, then I have
