Synopsis

        Brandi Weston avoids painful memories of her abusive father, runaway sister, and mother lost to cancer.

Fleeing her brutal pimp in Kansas City, she climbs in a basement window of an unknown family dwelling. Secretly living in a closet under the stairs, she eavesdrops on a ladies church meeting. Lyndi, a former drug addict and prostitute, tells about a broken pieces song leading her to Christ.

Prostitutes don’t go to heaven, or so Brandi thought. A struggle for the truth and the song, ‘Pick Up the Broken Pieces’, ultimately leads her to Jesus.

Six-year-old Mary Beth discovers Brandi and, after some tension, the family accepts her and drives her to Beaumont, Texas.  She falls in love with the preacher’s son, but will her tainted past threaten their future and her church fellowship? 

Weaved into the story is author’s uplifting breast cancer experience.

            An emotional and exciting read, seasoned with humor.
