Shielded Heart is a very entertaining tale. And you’ll be eager to keep turning the pages of this steamy romance, too. This is a story that you may think you have figured out but the author dishes out a few surprises and does it quite successfully, too. Nicole Getridge delivers on this one and she’ll leave you wanting more.
The author has created some exceptional characters and I took a special interest in their well being from the get-go. Well, except for the ex-husband that you’ll love to hate. I found the interaction between Charity and her brother, Brian, to be true to form. And the sexual tension between Charity and her brother’s best friend, Josh, was simply brilliant, to say the least. Of course, I was nervous throughout much of the book, fearing that she was going to kill Candy off. Brian’s love for her was poignant. And I would’ve been really disappointed if she had been sacrificed for the story.
Look for future works by Nicole¼ .I think she’s here for the long haul!

Nicole Getridge tells the touching story of Charity Parris, a police officer who struggles to except that life can and will move on. Charity’s sad past, her dark tortured shadow, hangs over her every move. Her ex husband, or is he? The pair are teamed up to work together, their police skills are needed to capture the man reasonable for the latest killings and this is where the story twist and turns. Charity starts to share her hidden secrets and is forced to learn new dark secrets. Has everything just been one big lie? Will she be reunited with her past? These are the questions you, the reader, will want answered when reading “Shielded Heart”.
Author Nicole Getridge has written a touching story of lust, love and total betrayal. You will get lost in her book following her characters next moves to find the truth. You will learn to always follow your gut instinct.

"Shielded Heart" is a great book full of romance, the importance of strong family support in times of trouble, and suspenseful intrigue with a surprising twist at the end of the story.
The leading character, CharityParris returns to her parent's home after suffering through a nasty divorcefrom an abusive husband. In an attempt to rebuild her shattered life,Charity resumes work in her hometown police department as an officer only tofind she is scheduled to be teamed with an ex-boyfriend that she wouldrather forget.
Any reader who enjoys modern day police-cases or likes tosolve intriguing mysteries will be interested in Nicole Getridge’s book,Shielded Heart". Any reader who is hunting a steamy love story with lots ofsweet romantic moments will want to purchase this book. It is a fast pacedpage-turner with a satisfying ending. I would recommend "Shielded Heart" toeveryone who loves to read.

The riveting story, SHIELDED HEART, easily captures one's interest as author Nicole Getridge classically depicts the courage of her main character, Charity Parris. Charity finds strength to leave an undeserving life with an abusive husband. Her loving and supportive family welcome her with open arms when she returns to her hometown to continue a career as a police officer with a psychic gift. When partnered with her brother's best friend, the sexual attraction between Charity and Josh builds its way to a steamy adventure of romance as they can no longer repress their desire for one another.
If love is not enough to keep her readers turning pages, Nicole adds continuous mystery to her story involving Charity's brother Brian, and fiancee Candy. A chain of events makes its way to surprise us all in the end. This book of heated love, mystery, and the bond of family is one that should be added to your must-read list. SHIELDED HEART is truly a keeper!

A great read for both men and women. Getridge portrayed both the weakness and strength of a woman as the main character Charity confronted both her past and her future. Coming face to face with her ex-husband Greg and the terror that the mere sight of him brought seemed to propel her forward to her future with Josh, the man who would lead her into the love she so longed for. Don’t miss this chance to experience this dynamic expression of joy, sorrow, defeat, victory, love and passion in Shielded Heart.

FAST-PACED AND ENTERTAINING…………
SHIELDED HEART by Nicole Getridge is a fast-paced, entertaining romance novel that leaves the reader wanting to go on to “just one more chapter” before turning out the light. The characters are engaging, the dialogue is brisk, and the scenarios are suspenseful yet believable. The author avoids the temptation to bog down the action with lengthy, unnecessary description and heavy-handed psychoanalysis of the characters. Instead Ms. Getridge portrays the main players as people worthy of the reader’s sympathy and concern. Charity is recovering from the ravages of an abusive marriage yet she is a strong woman who is more than able to care for herself and meet life head on. Her psychic abilities add a unique dimension to Charity’s personality as the reader observes her evolve from a cautious victim to the viable heroine. SHIELDED HEART is definitely worth a trip to the book store, but reader beware: Once the novel is begun, it’s almost impossible to put it down. Congratulations to Nicole Getridge on a fine piece of work!

Detective Charity Parris goes home to New York after the break-up of an abusive marriage. With her now ex-husband in jail for beating her and causing the death of their unborn child, she wants nothing more than to put the past behind her and get her life back.
Once home she goes to work, where she is partnered with Josh Muldoon a childhood friend of her older brother's. When a couple of prostitutes turn up dead, it is her and Josh's job to find the murderer.
When Josh asks Charity to become his wife, she doesn't know what to do. Can Josh break through the shield she has built up around her heart? Only time will tell.
Shielded Heart by Nicole Getridge is a moving novel, that will make you cry, laugh and love with the characters she has created. The book is a page turner, once you start reading you won't want to put it down until the end. Nicole brings Josh and Charity into your heart as the couple struggle to keep each other safe. There are several twist and turns to the story, with several surprises along the way. I recommend this book highly, it is a wonderful read.
