IS IT NOW? The End of Days!

AUTHORS' TRAIL

I have been given this blog from James McKinley Hibbard concerning his belief in what it means to be born again. Mr. Hibbard's words so touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes. In my opinion Mr. Hibbard has found the true meaning of being born again.

This is an excerpt from his book SINS OF THE POPPASI am delighted to say that Mr. Hibbard has asked me to read and review his book. From pages 254 and 255 of SINS OF THE POPPAS.

Throughout my teen years and early twenties, I often had a desire from within to return to Kentucky, and in doing so maybe change the direction of my life. To renew my dedication to God, and cleanse myself of the thing inside that exploded on impulse to violence and self destruction. Sort of like being born again!

I didn't realize then, that these thoughts and desires were being directed at me from God. Had I have known, then I would have realized that I did not have to return to my birth place to obtain a new life.

It was much later in life, that I fully realized what being born again truly menat. That is, after many experiences of inviting Christ into my life, being saved, or joining a local church assembly. these were good Christian traditions, but something was missing.

It was after my heart operation that being born again came alive in my dealings with God. Even though surgery is of the flesh, God showed me the similarities of that, and being spiritually born again.

The surgeon tries his best to remove the old vessels of our hearts, the ones that are clogged or worn, and no longer function at one hundred percent; ceasing the blood flow throughout our bodies that causes us to think, to move to even exist.

Then, after the successful surgery, we are given a new lease on life. We are to again, live normally or maybe more carefully. We are to not take anything into our bodies that will ever again harm our blood flow, ultimately damaging our heart; which is the very existence of our flesh.

We are not made brand new from the surgeon's hand. We are still slightly damaged, but we live. Our flesh has been saved.

Oh we may slip and occasionally eat or drink something that we have been warned of, something that will again cause our hearts to cease beating normally.

By nature, we cannot let go of the old things easily, but we have been saved thanks to technology, the doctor, being the good doctor he is, will forgive us for slipping. We know that he will. He will scold us, then warn us to stay with the plan he had chosen for our bodies, for our lives.

Sounds familiar to one being saved from spiritual sin, doesn't it?

The desires from our past lives not only cause set backs in our health, but also in our spiritual walk with God. I often wish that during the heart surgery, a vein running to my brain had been replaced to cause me to forget old desires and old memories. That is exactly what happens when God performs the born again experience into one's life. God performs and operation on our spirit that is made brand new. He removes the flesh from inward spirit and replaces it with his miracles of instructions. He becomes the heart of our spirit and we are made brand new; born again.

My review of SIN OF THE POPPAS

SIN OF THE POPPAS is a truth in what God can do in a person’s life. Jesus traps the monster that lurks inside waiting to strike, then drives that monster out, leaving a new creature with the love of Christ where the hate and violence once was.

I highly recommend this book. It is heartwarming and heart wincing all at the same time. The reader will be brought to tears one minute and feel the Joy of this man’s salvation the next and will actually see the characters in this true life story, picturing them in the readers own mind.

This book tells of a family cursed with abuse from one generation to generation. Abuse that fills a child with anger and hate until all that is left of the child is an exploding spirit hiding in the deepest part of his soul. This man does battle with the devil, a war that wages within him between the goodness of Sonny the boy who loved God and Shotgun, the devils disciple. A war that wages for fifty years until Jesus conquers the beast within Shotgun’s soul, allowing the goodness of Sonny to reappear.

In my opinion, THE SIN OF THE POPPAS, is heart wincing. I found myself wanting to take this abused child in my arms and rock him until the pain was not only gone from his body but his mind as well. And with that small gesture, quiet his pain. As I read THE SIN OF THE POPPAS, I felf the power of Almighty God at work in this man as his own forgiveness intertwines with the forgiveness of the wrongs done to him. And one day when he can completely forgive the abusive father who should have been a source of unconditional love, the power of the dark demons will be relinquished and Sonny will return.

 Book on my Library Corner

The Listening Tree by Joyce Anne Edmondson

The Listening Tree contains stories about faith, hope, love,

children, grandchildren, families, friends, imaginary situations

and visions of what the author and others have described as

the Kingdom of God—already here, not yet.

This Author's Review of

The Listening Tree

by Joyce Ann Edmondson

My review of The Listening Tree

The Listening Tree is a delightful glimpse into a womanÕs life as she discovers her faith in God. From childhood, she unknowingly takes    the hand of God and is led spiritually on her lifeÕs path. As a girl she searches until as a young woman she finds her place in GodÕs planÑnot as a Nun, as she wants, but as a wife, mother and grandmother devoted to her family, and a woman who shares     God's love with others.

I find the Listening Tree to have a calming effect upon the reader. Reliving the memories of this authorÕs lifetime and how each cherished memory brings her to be the loving woman God always knew she would be, instills in the heart of each reader that God is there waiting to take their hand, and as the listening tree, God will hear those who pray.

Falling Petals

Falling Petals is a collection of 75 poems written over a 50

This Author's Review of

"Falling Petals"

by Joyce Ann Edmondson

My review of Falling Petals

Mrs. Edmondson is also the Author of "The Listening Tree," and already an accomplished Author in her own right. Falling Petals is by far a book of poems you will want to curl up with—and its title speaks volumes of its contents. Reliving bits and pieces of this woman’s life, like petals falling gently to the ground, as a flower reaches its maturity. I traveled with the author over a time span of her seventy three years. Joyce Edmondson gives her readers a glimpse into her soul—during times of turmoil, and times of complete joy. She travels down a spiritual path—a path her God predestined her to walk—not the path of her choice, but the path of God’s choosing. Her poems tell her story in a subtle and quiet way, leaving her readers with a knowledge of who she is deep in her soul. She lives her faith not only through her words—also through sharing herself unselfishly with others, she meets along life’s pathway to God.
