WESTORLANDONEWS.COM - WEST ORLANDO NEWS
Take a minute to surf the website above. I had the pleasure of discussing my book with Keith Longmore, Editor of West Orlando News, on January 15, 2010 after he had received my press release which was emailed to him on January 6, 2010. He then added a picture of the front cover and a fabulous summary of my book, "The Mis-Tails of Mooshca and the Little Wekiva River" to the website. You can find it under "News" and "Planet Florida."
Here's what Keith had to say about my book:
"Thanks for sending us this press release and other information. We have put the piece up on our online daily news site: westorlandonews.com. It is in our "Latest News" and "Planet Florida" sections on our Home Page."
This is so exciting, thank you Keith.

April 17, 2010 dawned sunny and mild, Danny and I began our day driving to Flagler County Library in Palm Coast Florida to visit the library during their Earth Day Celebration and read my book to a group of children. At 1:00 pm an excited audience of children ages 7-16 and their parents gathered in the library reading room. Reading "The Mis-Tails of Mooshca and the Little Wekiva River" for the first time made me a little nervous. But my audience sat completly absorbed in the story. I was so relieved and grateful for their enthusiasm, one parent in particular, Hannah Smith, made me feel so welcome. Books were purchased and a signed copy was presented to the librarian, Theresa Owen. Refreshments and activities with the younger children took place immediately after a very long question and answer session with my new group of friends. All in all my first book reading was fantastic. Thank you Flagler County Library for a wonderful day.
April 22, 2010 "Earth Day," pottery barn kids at Mall at Millenia in Orlando, Florida. What a perfect day to read my book to the children. The first reading began at 11:00 am to an audience of 30 or more, including my wonderful husband Danny. The second reading at 3:00 pm with twice the crowd. Pottery barn kids made a great effort to make your children welcome and made me feel like a star. Thank you and if the need arises don't hesitate to call, I'll come back again. Just to let you know, every Tuesday pottery barn kids will read a book to any and all who stop by at 11:00 in the morning. What a way to begin your day of shopping.
May 6, 2010, what a FANTASIC DAY I had. Thank you Denise Girtman with the Brighton Reservation and Billy Oscelola Memorial Library. To all of the children from the kindergarten class at the Pemayetv Emahakv Charter School, translated means Our Way School, all 31, thank you for being so patient and inquisitive at 2:10 pm and allowing me to read my book to you. It was a pleasure. At 3:00 pm the after school children arrived and I read my book all over again to a fabulous group. And last but not least, thank you Rachel Buxton, reporter, and the camera man, Rodney "Tom: Riser, with Seminole Media Productions for stopping by at 2:10 pm to video tape my reading which made me feel like a star. It is to air on the TV Station WSBC and hopefully featured in The Seminole Tribune. This is a day I will never forget.
May 15, 2010, in my home town of Dubuque, Iowa the local newspaper blessed me with a spot in their "books published" section of the Telegraph Herald. How great is that. I hope all you book lovers in my home town take a minute and look at my book, and maybe even buy a copy or two. Thank you. |
