Walking the Walk by Faith ISBN: 1-4137-8534-4
In post-modern America “The Christian Religion” is seen as backward, stale and not politically correct. Many churches have attempted to adapt by blending into the liberal landscape. They compromise their message which results in a diluted Gospel or “Easy-Believism.” It burdens no one with conformity to outdated notions such as discipleship, morality and self-denial. The adherents to this Cheap Grace blend in to society very well and do not appear to be any different than their secular neighbors. Christ does not call people to be “religious” pew sitters. He came to seek and save the lost. Those who respond to His call are His disciples. Walking the Walk by Faith presents Christ’s Gospel and the steps to becoming a true disciple of Christ who walks in the spirit. The true disciple of Christ does not conform to society, but will stand out with a character that is just like His. |

The Spirit-led Christian is living in a world which is diametrically opposed to every value of God. However, the maturing believer is called, by God Himself, to jettison all values which are not His so their character will become Christ-like. Possessing the Treasure looks closely at our Spiritual Treasure. The call is to submit entirely to the regenerative process the Lord takes all of His true children through. Those who remain and endure through the fires of sanctification will become the Christ-like believers who know what their Treasure is. They will know where it is and where it is not. The will see the alternative, worldly possessions, power and glory, as rubbish in comparison. The Christian walk of Faith is accomplished successfully by those who understand they have entered into a blood covenant with their savior and value their citizenship in the Kingdom of God as their most valuable treasure. |

I started writing Possessing the Treasure in March 2005. I completed it in May 2005. Since the focus of this book deals primarily with spiritual warfare as well as relational issues I struggled mightily all through the process of research and writing it. Walking the Walk by Faith described the processes that God uses to mature believers from the Soul-led level of maturity to the Spirit-led level. Possessing the Treasure descibes the maturing which enables the Spirit-led believer to grow from Adult Christian to the Mature Christian stage of maturity. I used the first 10 chapters of the book of Joshua as a "type" of the believer's struggle to "take possession" of their spiritual treasure. Most beleivers have little, if any, realization of the their true position in the Kingdom of God. If we could grasp the truth of our Adoption into the family of God that took place at our salvation, perhaps we would turn our hearts back to God for fulfillment rather than the temporal.
As we walk in the spirit, we build godly treasure in our hearts and lay up eternal treasure in Heaven. When we walk according to the flesh, we build up a treasury of fleshly evil in our hearts and no eternal treasure in Heaven. Possessing the Treasure was written to reveal these truths to the beleiver so the Holy Spirit could do His great work of sanctification in our hearts.
