Michele grew up in Englewood with aspirations of traveling the world and joining the Peace Corps. She also wanted to write. After high school, she moved to Guam and began to fulfill her life long dream of traveling. She never did make it to the Peace Corps, but did continue to write. She stayed in Guam for a couple of years and worked as an account executive with the Guam TV Guide. Being a single white female on a tiny island in the South Pacific did have its advantages.
Later, after marriage and children, she moved back to Ohio. She wrote a few pieces and became a published writer of several short stories and poetry. Life moved forward and writing some how managed to squeeze in between boys, a big yellow dog, and a career as a mortgage underwriter.
Michele wrote, The Collector, whenever time prevailed. Sometimes, in the middle of the night, characters would awaken her. She said, “It was a nagging feeling, like someone or something was waiting. Writing is like living and breathing. The words flow in your mind. They take over your thoughts. When you allow yourself to get so deep in concentration, and later read what you wrote, you realize you’ve written something awesome. You remind yourself that you actually wrote something worthwhile.” ~Words are always there…waiting to be written.
