Hello, I would like to begin by telling my readers a little about myself and my background. I was born in Dayton, Ohio and lived in a small farming community called Blanchester. My dad and mom were of strong catholic beliefs and of course believed in having a very large family of twelve children. I was the fourth down from the eldest. Throughout my life, I have been confronted with many over bearing challenges for which some, I have overcome and conquered very well. But, I have also encountered some unexplained events of a spiritual nature. In much of my Poetry, I write of true experiences and of many different subjects. Some are happy, some strange and frightening and some are sad. All my life it has always been very hard for me to express my most private thoughts. But, strangely one fall day while out for drive a feeling of enlightenment overwhelmed me. I felt the need and desire to write with God's loving and helping hands. It has taken me four years to write Volumes 1 and 2 of [Coffee Cup Poetry & Me with Thee]. It is my sincere wish to all my readers, that all will enjoy my style of poetry and find my poems interesting and eye-opening.
In my early years of growing up, one of my first experience of God's great power, was at the age of six. I had lost a small shinny new dime earned for doing chores, that my dad had given me. The grass was very thick and tall. Somewhere in our one acre yard, I had dropped my dime while playing with my siblings. I was so sad, but new if I prayed and asked for God's help, he would truly help me find my lost dime. So all day, I looked for my dime and could not find it. The next morning, I began to look once again, but still could not fine my dime, while searching the entire time, I never gave up praying for God's help and I believed he would help me. Then on that second day of searching. It was getting dark and I was about to give up. When I looked down and saw something shinny in the tall grass. It was my shinny new dime. This was my first eye opening experience at age six, with prayer and Gods powers. This small, but special event stayed with me all through my life along with many other very special happenings in my lifetime. When things would begin to get tough, I would think about the time, when I lost that dime and how prayer with faith helped me find it. So, I would like to say to all my wonderful readers, Please enjoy my books of poetry and I pray my words will touch your hearts as much as writing them has touched mine.
Sincerely,
Mary Ann Mark

There has been many rough times and challenges in my lifetime. In 1973 , after the birth of my son , Frank. I like many other parents of disabled children , became frighten. And then when I first heard, that my first born son was going to be totally dependent upon me for the rest of his life, I questioned God's reasoning. Why had God, chosen me out of millions of mothers to give birth to and care for this sweet child. Currently, I am working on another book . Hopefully this book, when completed, will help many parents with disabled children, understand God's perfect purpose for giving these beautiful babies to only a selective few parents. |
