Biography

Cindy Williams Newsome is a native of Hobbstown. She has robustly studied Hobbstown’s genesis and its present-day status. Through interviews with founding fathers’ descendants, and natives of the community, the author has fulfilled a ten-year aspiration. Ms. Newsome’s love of writing began when she joined a local “girl group” in the early 1960s.  She penned lyrics with the expectation of their use at such time that a recording contract might be offered. The author is married and has two daughters and two grandsons. After 26 years of employment with a major telecommunications corporation, Ms. Newsome retired from her job as a manager this year. The author holds a B.A. in English from Caldwell College and a business degree from Raritan Valley College. She is a devout member of Cathedral International Church in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, where Bishop Donald Hilliard, Jr. is Senior Pastor, and Dr. Bernadette Glover-Williams is Executive Pastor. Ms. Newsome is a missionary at Cathedral International.

The author's favorite pastimes are reading, shopping, and being an inspiration and blessing to the young and elderly.
