Biography

Curriculum Vitae LeNore Stumpf

LeNore Stumpf has been writing for 35 years and has been published in a dozen magazines, including Modern Romances, True Story and the American Journal of Nursing. She has been published in two dozen newspapers, including excerpts from her humor column, "Flip Side," in metropolitan dailies in Topeka (more than 100 of them) and in Kansas City. She studied literature and creative writing at Kansas State University, her first short fiction appeared in Modern Romances and she wrote on assignment for two weekly newspapers for 25 years until her retirement. She is a member of Kansas Authors Club and managed the KAC state prose contest one year.  She is the manager of the District 4 prose contest for 2005. Her first book, a contemporary romance novel, "Branded With Love," was published by Publish America of Frederick, MD in October 2002. In October 2003, Publish America published her second book, "Life, I Think, Is Like A Watermelon." It is a compilation of her humor columns, plus additional material written especially for the book.

She wrote a humor column every week for 18 years. It ran in one paper for that length of time, a second paper for 14 years and a third paper for five years. The column placed in both state and national competition.

LeNore Stumpf grew up on a Kansas farm, has lived in seven states, lived in New York City for one summer and in the suburbs of Tokyo for two and a half years. Yet, she has a special affection for the wide-open spaces of Kansas, which is responsible for the easy-reading style of her work.
