Kansas Country Living

BITS OF WISDOM (for folks already too smart for their britches) is LeNore Stumpf's fourth published book. It is filled with short-short humor pieces reflecting the author's unique view of the world at large. She lives in a small Kansas town. (You live in a small town if a traffic jam consists of a combine stalled at the end of your driveway when you're trying to back out.) Yet, even in a small town she is keenly aware that the world moves faster than she does. (Some years I manage to get the spring jobs finished before they interfere with my summer work. If I'm lucky I get the summer work done in time to keep it from overlapping with my fall duties. Then I plug away at the fall jobs and hope it will be a long time before the snow flies. Some days I feel like the world is a Maytag and I'm caught in the spin cycle.)
