"LENNY"
Biography
Robert Anaya Ramirez
|

I was born in Odessa, TX. at Medical Center. That was back in 1965. Shortly after that my mother and I moved to Ft.Worth. It is there I was educated.
On that note I would like to thank several teachers that made an indellible impression on me.
At De Zavala elementary in Ft.Worth, Mrs.Nobles, and Principal Dan Griffith. At Daggett elementary in Ft.Worth, Mrs.Werner, and Mrs.Georges. At Daggett middle, Mr.Parks, Coach Browning, and Mrs.Seal. And at Trimble Tech High...Jay Wilburn. To all of you, Thanks for tellin' it like it was!

I really enjoyed growing up in Ft.Worth. I lived in the Hospital district, and from the front porches of all my childhood homes I was able to see John Petersmith Hospital, known as one of the top Trauma Units in the USA at the time, and St.Joseph Hospital just across the street. And if I turned NW, I saw Harris and Cook in the distance.
We had the old Danceland Ballroom in our neighborhood, and Mrs.Baird's bakery always kept our mouths watered. Justin Boots and Dickies were also nearby. Central High, which later became Trimble Tech--my high school--and the infamous underpasses on Jennings and HempHill entering downtown.
Of course we had free tickets to the Fat Stock Show every year from our schools. The Panther Boys Club, The Lion's Club--all these organizations that really made a difference in my life. So thank you, Ft.Worth. This book couldnt have been made without you.
After suffering with depression for years, and also enduring the consequences of decisions made under the influence, I made a conscious effort to change my life. It took spending too many years in prison, but I know people can draw Hope from me. If I can do it, anybody can!

Imagine trying to navigate thru a maze, and at every dead end you may encounter corrupt Mexican Federal Agents, members of a violent gang, 2 beautiful women, both your mothers on their knees in prayer, or someone that looks familiar strapped down to a death gurney. If you can imagine that, then you've met Lenny.
Joe Cruz, N. Little Rock.
Lenny is a story that will sweep you away into a world of desperation and despair, but you will emerge on the other end into a world of hope and redemption. It is truly a unique story following a young man who searches for answers and happiness. It all takes place in the state of Texas. While it is fiction, I can see so many young men and women who have traveled, or are traveling, down the same path that Lenny did. Life is a series of choices and those choices mold us into the adults we are today. Everyone can learn something from Lenny.
Laura W, Odessa, TX.
Ram... Say, your book is good! The few men in here that read it say the same. You did good. I knew you'd do what you said you'd do. Great work.
David Armendarez, Huntsville, TX.
Lenny grabs your attention in the first few pages and won't let go. I am not a fast reader and I finished this book in just a couple of days. I loved this book!!!!!!! The characters make you really care about them. This book is truly a so-called "page turner". I laughed, I cried, I felt every emotion that the characters were experiencing. Not many books can do that. I have recommended it to all my friends and hope they find it as captivating as I did.
Jan W, Arkansas
Finally a writer that relates to me: Of Spanish descent, but all American! It has some history, some culture, but mainly raw grit of what it is out there in the world. Lenny walking a line between the Mexican Mafia and violent prison gangs ! Drug deals and Death Row drama! Too real here in Texas!
Daniel Lee, 19 Ft.Worth, TX. |

I guess it's somewhat of an accomplishment to be working for the most powerful news entity in the world--FOX. God, I love America !
