The book is a collection of 66 poems.  Each poem has a brief introduction.  The poems cover a wide range of subjects and reflect the passions I have had in my life.

I was an amateur astronomer.  We bought a telescope when my boys were very young.  We live across the street from an observatory.  I was hooked on astronomy in the fourth grade when I was asked to do a research paper on the solar system and present it to the class.  I have studied every aspect of astronomy and cosmology and in the process became fascinated with quantum physics and quantum mechanics.  I tried to read every single book on those subjects and follow every new theory and idea.  I just hope I’m still alive when they unravel the mystery of dark matter!  My love of astronomy is found in the poems.

Another great love is the Rocky Mountains.  Nothing is more wonderful to me than spending time in the high country.  I tried to learn and recognize every single mountain bird, every tree, every wildflower, every type of rock or stone, the name of every mountain peak.  You get the picture!  My love of the high alpine world and the mountain forests and streams are reflected in the poetry.

I love all of nature, from the lowly caterpillar to the phenomenon of the twilight arch.  I love the gentle fading of one season and the shy appearance of the next.  I love a thunderstorm and deep snow.  I love the fragile spring on the high prairie.  It’s all there in the poetry.

I believe in relationships.  Those who know me well have often heard me say that if we aren’t here to help each other then I don’t know why we are here.  This is expressed often in the poetry.

Above all, my book is life-affirming and positive.  I feel so blessed.  I feel that this life is both mysterious and wonderful.  This joy and wonder is the poetry.
