STR8 BOLT Author Guest of Alpha Chi Omega Alums
J. T. Whitman, author STR8 BOLT, was the guest of the San Fernando Valley Alumnae Group of the national sorority, Alpha Chi Omega.
The book club, a specialty goup of the alums, meets monthly at the home of one of the members for dinner and discussion. The meal is coordinated to themes in the book.
Mr. Whitman was able to share with the group his thought process and development decisions that influenced him in his journey to become a published author. His childhood, travels, and personal interractions all played key roles in the creation of his book. A lively interactive question and answer session was conducted over dinner.
His book is a richly woven tale of suspense, love, murder, and redemption. The characters are propelled to another place in time after being stricken by the rarely occurring straight bolt of lightning. The reader is engrossed in the moral decisions the characters must make which not only influence their own lives but those around them.
As a special thank you to the author, a monetary donation was made by the alums to the MacDowell Colony (www.macdowellcolony.org) as part of its ongoing legacy of supporting the arts.
All area alums are invited to join. Contact: cjballard@sbcglobal.net for membership information. This is a perfect opportunity to meet new friends or renew old relationships.

| "From the time I opened the book and read the first page of STR8 BOLT, I couldn't put it down. The twists and turns kept me rivited to the end of the book and I couldn't wait to see what happened next. The characters were so real, just like people you'd know. J.T. Whitman has crafted an amazing, fun zone, ride of a story. I can't wait for the movie."

"The desire to find out what happens next keeps the reader turning pages, and you are never disappointed. This is not the last we will hear of Jeff Whitman. Rod Serling of "The Twilight Zone" would have loved it."
