Down Home Living, May 22, 2007
Review from Amazon.com Reviewed by: Mountain Woman
I enjoyed the poetic tales that this author has written about living in the Appalachian mountains. Just good clean down home living! Makes the reader visually see and become a part of mountain life. I was able to see a side of Kentucky that many haven't portrayed through their writing. Some humor, some tears, and very interesting and easy to read! Would suggest it or recommend it to others! |

Proud Kentuckian Review from Publisher's Websight Sandy Kentucky (6/1/2007)

I am always eager to read about Kentucky culture. I eagerly read every word of Joyce's book and was very impressed with the contents. I found myself laughing, crying, smiling as I too recalled many of the same events that she has reflected on during her childhood in Kentucky. I would recommend that all who want to see an honest view of Kentucky living read Kentucky...The Mountains I Call Home. This author will allow you to experience the culture of Kentucky through holidays in the Kentucky mountains, river babtisms, revivals, mine explosions, births and deaths, and so much more! All I can say is buy it, you'll love it! |
