My formitive years were waisted in an Orphanage. I developed a very healthy disrespect for "Authority" and Society as a whole. Cynicism became my middle name and the ability to laugh in the face of Adversity was my forte. In 1959 I started my Apprenticeship as a car mechanic and spent my entire life helping other people with their car problems. I discovered that even though I was born and raised and worked in cities, the countryside is where I belong. I am passionate in my defence of the countryside and believe that every effort must be made to protect it, especially from those that treat the land as a commodity and not the precious resource that it is. In later years, the stresses and strains resulted in a minor stroke --- the body's way of telling me to slow down.
Accomplishments:
My passion has always been writing and when we as a nation lost the "Queen Mother" I wrote a Poem in Commemoration of her.
I had the honoured distinction of recieving a letter from Buckingham Palace on behalf of Her Majesty The Queen which simply stated:
Dear Mr Irvine,
The Queen wishes me to thank you for your letter, and for sending her a copy of your special tribute to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Her Majesty thought it was most kind of you to let her see your dedication to her late Mother, and I am to thank you once again for writing as you did."Other e-books written by me are "Activate Your Imagination" and "Joint Venture Etiquette" both of which may be obtained if you care to visit

Other Accomplishments:
I have written other poems some of which were published ....but!
I was very recently thrilled and delighted to be informed by the International Library of Poetry that my poem in Commemoration of the late Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother had been bestowed the prestigious Editors Choice Award because in His words and I quote, "Your artistic accomplishments and unique perspective - characteristics found in the most noteworthy poetic works." Unquote. To further commemorate the achievement I was elected to recieve the 2005 Editors Choice Published Poet Ribbon Award Pin.
This stunning Pin proudly displays my elavated status in the poetic community since only an elete group of Published Poets were elected to recieve this very special honor. I am indeed truelly honoured.
I can only hope my new book " A Properly Run Business" is as successful.
