Gayle Keeney-Canfield was born in Charleston, West Virginia and raised near Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated from Lebanon High school and attended college at Sierra College in Rocklin, California. Gayle is married to "my best friend", Kevin, and between them, they have one son (Jason), two daughters (Catherine and Christina), and four grandchildren (Heather, Alyssa, Jayden and Jacob). They also share their home in Butler County, Ohio with a feisty feline (Moses Aaron). Gayle is active in her local church, teaching Sunday School, and when she's not writing, enjoys reading, cross-stitching and the outdoors.
"I consider my greatest accomplishment as being the completion of Crossing Jordan. During the writing of this book, I went through the trauma of a divorce (which dried me up completely), losing nearly everything I'd accumulated, including two beloved horses and a Yellow Lab ("Charlie" - who is memorialized in the book). The bright spot was marrying my best friend in August 2005. The extraordinary experience of an awesome marriage with a tender and supportive help-mate started the creative juices flowing again. Without Kevin's encouragement ("I can see it - this should be a movie!!!"), I would have never completed the book and realized my dream of being a published author."
Gayle sends her sincere thanks to her cousin, Roscoe Keeney, who "started this whole thing," by tracing the Keeney Family's roots. Roscoe, who is the Keeney Family Historian, lives in Charleston, West Virginia and is a retired teacher and pastor.
