February 7th - Excerpts from "NOW IS THE TIME for Marietta Christian fiction author Gail Pallotta"
by Andrea Yeaman, Marietta Daily Journal Staff Writer
"After writing more than 50 freelance articles and receiving some nudges from her friends, Gail Pallotta felt the calling to write a book. But not just any book -- one with a Christian tone.
"Now Is The Time" outlines the story of Sarah Calotti as she searches for the courage to face surgery and finds the strength, peace and freedom to enjoy life. After being dumbstruck by the discovery that she requires a hysterectomy, she eventually realizes she does not have the courage to go through with the surgery. While searching her soul to discover the reason for her fear, she reflects on the past and realizes it is because of insecurities from her childhood.
Sarah encounters a friend, Meza, who helps her form a close relationship to God to gain the courage for the surgery. Meza also helps Sarah deal with reoccuring frustrations in her family life.
"We often read how abuse and neglect devastate people's lives. I wanted to give a solution, as well as show the problem," said Mrs. Pallotta... "There are two sides to everything. If evil and sorrow exist, goodness and happiness must. God makes it so and leads us to them."
The North Carolina native also hopes the book helps spread her message on the power of prayer. "We should talk to God every day, whether it is big, or small," said Mrs. Pallotta..."
...Former neighbor and current friend Dottie Blanchard was one of the first to read "Now Is The Time." Her husband, Jack, joked that it took her two days to finish the novel.
"I just sat down and kept on going right through it," said Mrs. Blanchard, a Marietta resident. "The dishes didn't get done. Nothing got done."
