On the Heals of Freedom

The desire of every man, woman and child who ever lived upon the face of this earth is to be free.  Freedom is a treasure not easily won, but all too easily lost.

Many nations throughout history have enjoyed a measure of freedom for a season.  They rose to unimaginable heights only to fall into the same pit of self destruction.

If we analyze history, we find two basic reasons for this phenomenon.  The first is erosion of national morality, and the second is the development of a bureaucratic welfare state.

Democracy can only survive in a society where the people are motivated by love and respect for others, and a desire to reach out for something better.

Autocracy rises to power from the ashes of a fallen democracy. It thrives on hatred, corruption, and the warped ideals of its people.

May we never forget who we are, or the legacy we have inherited from those who walked before us.
