Date Reviewed: June 26, 2006 IN FEAR OF LOSING YOU by Ericka K.F. Simpson PublishAmerica, November 2005 240 Pages, Paperback, $19.95 ISBN: 1424105617 Genre: Fiction RAW Rating: 4 All Is Fair In Love IN FEAR OF LOSING YOU chronicles the adventures of Katrina “Kat” Stanton and Kelly “Sweets” Owens as they search to find or avoid falling in love. Kat has a carefree attitude concerning dating. She follows a set of rules when meeting new women and will end the relationship after six weeks so the women won’t get too attached and fall in love. Sweets is the opposite. Badly burned in her last relationship, she is desperately looking for the right woman who will also love her back. Will Kat continue to dodge the love bug or will her “player” ways be her undoing? Will Sweets find the love she seeks? The answer lies within the pages of this tale. Simpson did a good job writing this book. The writing style was very simplistic with very few grammatical errors. The characters were strongly portrayed and the fact they were lesbians is secondary because they were confident in their sexuality so the author did not have to focus on it. There are several highly erotic scenes in the novel along with dramatic moments. I enjoyed peeking into Kat and Sweets’ world. This book was a change that I thoroughly enjoyed.
