The next day as Kendra stretched the legs of her new toy, and listened to the purr of the V-12 engine on the stretches of Interstate 45 between Houston and Dallas, a news flash came on stating, ‘Saul Epstein, CEO of H.R. Weinstein International Clothiers, was found dead this morning in his Houston hotel room. When he did not show up to his display at the convention center, his employees became concerned and placed repeated calls to his hotel room. After getting no response from Mr. Epstein, hotel security entered the room and found him dead in his bed. It seems that he died of natural causes and had a history of heart disease. Left to mourn his death is his wife Alice and three adult children. Saul Epstein was sixty four years old.’
Upon hearing this report Kendra’s hands began to shake and perspire as she gripped the wood grain of the steering wheel and took the next exit and went into a fast food restaurant to use the bathroom. She entered the bathroom and emptied herself of any food content as she gripped the sides of the toilet boil, then the small room became a confessional and a place to shed tears in private. Slowly she pulled herself together and continued driving towards home as what happened in Houston disappeared into the southern horizon.
