OUR ANGEL, OUR DAD

The holidays are coming

without you once again.

And, now with you away from us,

they will never be same.

The void we feel in our hearts

to no longer have you, Dad,

makes this time more difficult,

without you we are sad.

Our hearts are weighing heavy

without your warming smiles.

We long to see and hug you.

It’s been such a long, long while.

We know that you’re with God

and all the angels up above,

but hope that you still feel

all our unconditional love.

You are on our minds and in our hearts

through the busiest of days.

Your everlasting devotion

gave us love so many ways.

Even though you can’t be seen,

you are hopefully still with us,

to guide us all from each day to day.

It is our faith we now must trust.

So, please stay close to all of us

for all our needs don’t end.

I hope God knows who he has with Him
