July 4, 2008 Prayer

Thank You God for Your blessings on America. For what You did for her in the past, as You had once done for Israel, the apple of Your eye. This You did in spite of how we have both turned our backs on You. Restore us as You once restored them. At this time, as we celebrate our independence, let us once again become dependent on You, once more to be Your people, a people called by Your name. Let us humble ourselves as we lift our voices to you in prayer, let us seek You in all that we do, as we turn away from the evil that we do . . . both as individuals and as a country. We have so much to thank You for, as we recall Your many blessings let us turn back to You in true heart felt thanksgiving. For if we do, You will hear us, forgive us of our many sins and heal our land. God Almighty, heal this land of ours that once sought and honored You above all others. You said that if we came back and sought You that Your eyes would be open and that You would hear our cry. If we can but once again begin to walk humbly before You, to acknowledge You and obey your commandments, Your laws and decrees. Bless America today God, through Your Son Jesus Christ and let the Holy Spirit guide us. As we return to You bless America again, our country and its citizens, help us to walk in Your way again God.
