In the month of August 2008, John will be visiting the Parker Memorial Home in Piscataway, New Jersey for special "Music and Poetry" events for the residents. John will play the acoustic guitar and sing classic songs such as "This Land Is Your Land," "Brother, Can You Spare a Dime," "How Much Is That Doggie in the Window," and others, as well as read poetry he has written.

On June 1, 2008, John was a guest lecturer at the annual luncheon of the Ladies Philoptochos Society, a charitable organization, which took place in Scotch Plains, NJ. John's lecture was entitled "Lessons We Can Learn from Greek Mythology."

Three new poems from John were published in the August 2007 issue of Unfettered Verse.

John's book is now available for borrowing in the Highland Park Public Library (www.hpplnj.org).

On May 15, 2007, John read his unpublished poem "Dusty Dreams" during the open mic section of The Highland Park Library's Poetry Night Series. Alicia Suskin Ostriker was the featured poet that night.

On May 23, 2006, John again read at the open mike section of the Library's monthly poetry series. This time he read two new, unpublished poems: "Broken Playgrounds" and "Cementing over Flowers."

On November 29, 2005, John read his poem "Reflective Colors" during the open mic section of The Highland Park Public Library's Poetry Night Series.

On November 12, 2005, John did a poetry reading and book signing at the Saint George Greek Orthodox Church in Piscataway, NJ. He read three poems from his book: "Chrismation," "Theotokas," and the tribute poem to his mother-in-law, "Elpinickie."

On October 11, 2005, John read with pleasure his poem "Reflective Colors" before his colleagues and professor, Dr. Julie Cheville, at the Graduate School of Education at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey.
