BARNES AND NOBLE POETRY READING & BOOK SIGNING EVENT:
SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2006 from 2 to 4 PM at the North Brunswick, NJ Store.
Despite a downpour of rain, John's poetry reading / book signing was a success. Over 20 people came to hear John share fifteen poems from his book.
John opened his reading with a new poem, entitled, "English, Irregardless of Grammar," which takes a humorous look at grammar concepts and words. After that John shared poems grouped by themes: romantic love poems, since Valentine's Day was near ("Hope," "Intimacy," and "Anniversary"); Greek literature inspired poems ("Odysseus," and "NK"); poems about societal issues ("911," "Why?" "Race," "Equal," "The Porch"); poems about the wonders of childhood ("Ballerina Girl," read by John's daughter, Victoria, "Baby's Breath," "Divine Moment"); and a poem inspired by the philosopher, Martin Buber ("Question").
This was followed by a book signing. Eighteen copies of John's book were sold.
John would like to thank all who attended and supported him during this exciting event. Your encouragement was a blessing!
