Cheryl L.Zemke was inspired by the love of nature. Beginning at a young age she camped with her parents and older sibling, at a nearby state park. The same park that her family has gone for generations; now it is one of  her family traditions that she shares with her husband and son.

      It is at this park that the Defenders of Naturion was originated. While sketching with her son they began to create characters out of what they saw in nature, and soon the story of Naturion was formed. It was an intense labor of love and enjoyment. The story is one that raises ones curiosity as you are introduced to new characters and new creatures. You become intrigued with the relationships and the beauty of nature. Her hopes are that more people will invest in their state and local parks.

      Cheryl allowed her passion for art to develop into this book and was amazed at how it grew into more then a novel, the words seemed to come alive. The characters took on a personality of their own. In the future she hopes to expand the book into a series.
