Artist & Professor Brad Bernard wrote:
I am proud and honored to have had the opportunity to work as his apprentice in my formative years as an emerging artist shortly after my undergraduatestudies at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design where I received my BFA in painting. George's guidance and mentorship expanded my abilities as a painter, muralist, and community activist. His influence upon my hand as an artist was so pronounced that an extensive collector of his work approached me about restoring a damaged piece. Under his concept and leadership, myself and a small group of other community artists in Milwaukee formed a group called "Collaborative Effect" which later after George's relocation to Pittsburgh became an established non profit visual arts community service. George's influence has still been instrumental in my philosophy and success as artist, mentor, and educator. |

Doc Wilson - Dentist & Musician
Nick-named “Doc” due to his profession as a Dentist, is an exceptional woodwind instrumentalist. Although he has perfected the sound of the woodwinds from bassoon to flute, his love for the saxophone is overwhelmingly obvious when you hear him blow. The influence of John Coltrane is all through the soul of his wind. Doc is a band member of The Edgewood Symphony Orchestra, The African American Music Institute, as well as Faculty for The Homewood Jazz Workshop. He also plays Sax with The Kevin Howard Band and does private instruction for all wood wind instruments.
