Biographical Data:

 

            Born April 11, 1929, Brooklyn, N.Y. Married 1953 to Donna Cohan, a graduate of the Syracuse University School of Education, who passed away in 1992. Three children: Susan Carol, Robin Halle, and Jonathan Alan. Married Susan McMaster in 1993. Retired from medical practice in December 1991 and now living on a paint horse-breeding ranch in Tomball, Texas, RanchoEncantado, painthorseonline.com

Education: 

           

College: Bates College, Lewiston, Maine. Bachelor of Science 1950, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa.

            Medical School: College of Medicine, Syracuse State University of New York, M.D. 1954, cum laude, Alpha Omega Alpha.

            Postgraduate medical training: 1954-1958 at University Hospitals, Western Reserve Medical School, Cleveland, Ohio, in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. 1960-61 at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas in Cardiology.

 

Military Service:

 

Assigned as Assistant Chief of Medicine and Post Cardiologist at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, 1958-1960.

 

Medical Practice: Houston, Texas

           

1961-1971 with the Levy Clinic.

            1971-1991 with the Zimmerman Clinic.

            Admitted patients to Hermann, Methodist and St. Luke’s Hospitals.

            Thirty-one articles in the medical literature.

            Member Meyerland Civic Improvement Association Board of Directors 1981-1985. President of Board, 1983-1985.

            Founding member of the Brays Bayou Association, 1984. (A group of 20+ subdivisions joined to find a plan to control flooding.)

            Founding member of the Meyerland Security Association 1982. President from 1982-1989. (The first successful neighborhood constable patrol program in Houston, based on voluntary contributions.)
