Born April 11, 1929, Brooklyn, N.Y. Married 1953 to Donna Cohan, a graduate of the Syracuse University School of Education, who passed away in 1992. Three children: Susan Carol, Robin Halle, and Jonathan Alan. Married Susan McMaster in 1993. College: Bates College, Lewiston, Maine. Bachelor of Science 1950, magna cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa.
Medical School: College of Medicine, Syracuse State University of New York, M.D. 1954, cum laude, Alpha Omega Alpha.
Postgraduate medical training: 1954-1958 at University Hospitals, Western Reserve Medical School, Cleveland, Ohio, in Internal Medicine and Cardiology. 1960-61 at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas in Cardiology.
Military Service:
Assigned as Assistant Chief of Medicine and Post Cardiologist at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, 1958-1960.
