Started writing when I first quit drinking back in 1986. For the next six years I filled 18 three inch binders with journals, stories, and poetry. All of this work, sat idle, when in 1992, I decided I didn't have a drinking problem. By 1994, I accepted that I was indeed an alcoholic-addict. Once again being sober, my writings resumed. From 1997 to 2004, I wrote short stories, poetry, and editorials for our local newspaper, The Beatrice Daily-Sun. By April of 2004, a contract was signed with PublishAmerica for my book, Damaged Merchandise; Poems and Stories of an Alcoholic Addict. In October of 2004, work on my second book War Zone, Backing Out of Hell was finished. War Zone is the prequel to Damaged Merchandise and was release on 2/6/06. Presently a third book is being written, which will be a prequel to War Zone and will complete this trilogy.

Everything I write is honest and truthful. It has become my outlet to search my soul and correct my wrongs. My life is based on the belief, that all dreams can come true. We need to live in the real world, but we should never forget our dreams. 10% of my royalties from Damaged Merchandise will go to the University of Nebraska-Omaha's Lied Transplant Center, in honor of my granddaughter, Jaycie, who at the tender age of eight months received the gift of life, a new liver.
My addictions have lead me to homelessness, eating out of dumpsters. I've had the unique privilege of hitch-hiking the United States, coast-to-coast, using I-80 as my "main road."
I've been involved in the nursery business, a bartender, security guard, truck driver, bakery scaler, maintenance manager, shipping and receiving manager, salesman at a major retail store as well as a pet shop. And many other jobs along the way. Now, I can add "writer" to this list...
