By Pierrette , author of P.A.

I didn't know what to expect when I started reading Dave Adrian's book "The Man from nowhere." The title was intriguing enough but since it dealt with a European culture I was raised in, I was most eager to get started.
Actually a true story. it is Dave's Story, and it deals mainly with the intrigues, the repeated deceptions, the Machiavellian people.( most of them his own relatives!) the author had to deal with, after the mysterious and suspicious death of his mother, the heiress of a powerful and wealthy Champagne family in France.
Exceedingly well written, in a prose anyone would be proud of, it is all the more remarkable when one think that it is the author second language after French... The results of being raised by nannies and servants from Great Britain, who often were employed by wealthy Europeans, the French especially for the expressed purpose to teach their children English...all the while keeping the kids out of "Maman's " way.
All this and much more is explained in details by Dave and makes for interresting reading...especially for those not familiar with the lifestyles of the "Rich and famous". Indeed Dave goes to great lenght and details to explain the intricacies, the deceptions of the lawyers (On all sides!) and the suffering he endured with his family, in order to get to the bottom of the mystery that surrounded his mother's death. It makes for a most interresting book; all the more so since our author is still in the throes of this intriguing story, giving us no doubt another sequel in the future, that hopefully will bring an end to this saga to the man from nowhere. Let's hope so.

Review for 'The Man from Nowhere.'

The Man from Nowhere is a transparent account of Dave's reality. Through
his story, Dave Adrian reveals many turbulent periods from his life, tale
of betrayals and hurt feelings. He says exactly what he means, in 'his language.'

Dave is trying to understand what feels wrong or empty in the legal world
and his social world. He wants readers to question a host of causes and
kinds of distress and many other perplexing events.

Each word is energetic and persuasive.

Thank you for sharing it.

 INTERVIEWS
From " Coffee Cramp " ...

INTERVIEW

 QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Question: What has inspired you to become a writer?

Answer:

I have always been a writer , poems , essays , songs lyrics since my youth .

But the serious turning point as a book author began with a personal plight revolving

around the unexplained circumstances of my mother's death , and the awesome events

that followed from 1984 onwards .

Also I have always been a keen book reader . Anything from Classics , to James Joyce , serious press articles ,

poetry ,  fiction , all genres .

This inspired me years ago to write an autobiographical true life story that will have other

books in the future , due to the exceptional story this has become .

Question: Is there anyone in particular that you would attribute to having played a role in your success?

Answer:

Yes , Publish America . I have tried for years to get a publisher without success , until I came

across their website , and they published my book . For that only , I think they are a great publishing

house .

Question: What type of writing do you enjoy the most?

Answer:  Biographies based on true life stories : There are so many totally amazing

life experiences that are unknown . Then factual books on certain isuues , such a music ,

the music industry ; also music lyrics as a singe songwriter producer .

Poems is a genre I have left aside for the time being ..

Question: Do you have a style that resembles any famous writers? If so who?

Answer:

Difficult question to answer due to the my genre ; novels on the fringe of investigation

work , with many side aspects : emotional , factual , lyrical in some respects .

So not a specific genre , to be related with other famous writers .

Maybe in a very modest way Agatha Christie for my first book .

Question: What are the names of any books, articles, short stories or poems that you  have in print or coming up to be published?

Answer: My first book , on the topic mentionned above : " The Man From Nowhere " .

I have one ot two pending offers on these books , mainly on " audio books  " with Penny Hayes .

This due to music clips on all the books mentionned . Also publishers are looking at the other books ,

and some are / will be suggested to Publish America .

A second book in co writing , " White Glove " , another biography based on the incredible life

of a music associate , from his early immigrant days , to W.W.2 , up to the story of his famous

recording studio and label .

A third book , the biographical story of my Belgian wife Patsy , and her struggles against depression

with very revealing facts . The title is  : " Sad Eyed Ldy of the Lowlands " .

A fourth book on the music industry , co writing with another American associate , Robert MacKinnon .

The title is " Nocturnal storms " .

And a fith book on my experience as a street musician , a diary with amazing stories based in the

international tourist town of Brugge , in Belgium , Europe . Title : " The Bridges of Brygge " .

And finally , more than likely a " follow up " to my first book later ...

Question: Do you belong to any writer’s forums or workshops? If so which ones and do you feel they have been helpful? Please give some details as to why or why not.

Answer: The forums of Publish America , and the contacts I have made through them .

Various subjects are approached , marketing , signings , information as a whole , etc ...

Also a few others workshops , but not so good .

Question: What are your writing goals?

Answer:

Sell books of course , and also share experiences with the big reading  public at large .

There is so much they do not know , and want to know .

My goal is also mainly films , and books are a good step towards that .

Film production people are already being contacted , but it is a difficult task to

get a full lengh feature film released . That will come , in the meantime I stick

to TV documentaries ; I have had already several of those , and more to come ,

at national levels . Music also in my case benefit from films , due to the soundtrack .

Question: Where do you think you will be in one year, five years or 10 years?

Answer:

Difficult to answer ; I think I will succeed with my books ; I am also busy with my

music and lyrics , and I dare think a feature film would have definitely a big success due to

my exceptional story  . So , I hope in one year I will be better off , in 5 or 10 years ,

relatively respected and well known .

I also reckon world events will propagate true life stories in the future .

The public is growing aware of their surroundings , and are becoming more inquisitive

about facts , as opposed to superficial writings .

But I never will pretend to be a great writer ; those people are " one of a kind " ,

such as Ernest Hemingway , John Steinbeck ,  Albert Camus , Balzac , and the endless list of geniuses

the writing world has had , as opposed to some of the bland releases from our  time and age .

I remain very modest in my abilities as a writer , one must never forget that .

Question: Where do you get your writing ideas and inspirations?

Answer:

Everything interesting , that has a feeling of  being real , as opposed to the hype of

our time , too often a disease for the Artistic wotld .

Question: What do you find to be the most difficult part of writing? For instance, character development, scene setting, plot etc.

Answer:

Structure , prose correction , plots are no problem in my genre .

Question: Do you have any advice for other writers?

Yes , once your book is published , concentrate on marketing , the very difficult next step .

POD has a great future , but it is still early days . It is gaining recognition , but is still

considered too often as " vanity " . It is however very popular , due to the reprinting

facility it offers to bookstores for classics out of  print with offset releases .

It is now moving in the field of new authors , only problem is the quantity it allows ,

hence the marketing issue of prime importance .

Question: Would you like some advice from other writers and if so on what area?

Answer:

yes , advice is always welcome ; I have already received some from other authors ,

that has been food for reflections and thoughts about the future , on prose , marketing ,

etc...

A Cry for Justice

The Man from Nowhere on his way to Somewhere.

Even the most brilliant author of murder mysteries will find it difficult to invent a story like that of Dave Adrian. Only life itself is capable of bringing forth an astounding tale of domestic homicide - to this day unpunished - and corruption which reaches far into the social and political high-society of France. This true life story dares to up-root a scandal of judicial and social indifference, shielded behind a solid wall of - in some cases bought - silence, not only in France but also in the neighboring countries of Belgium and Holland.

Born to a wealthy family in Paris, France, Dave lived through all possible stages of life: from wealth to near poverty, from an unknown nobody to a respected author and musician.

His current book The Man from Nowhere depicts Adrian’s life, a life was influenced by corruption on all levels, both political and judiciary authorities - some of which are still in power in present day France - as well as fraud committed against him by members of his own family, which preceded the ominous "suicide" of his mother and had later caused the death of his second wife, who was unable to bear the perpetual strain put on her by Adrian’s relatives.

In this unique novel The Man from Nowhere, Adrian reveals facts about the disguised murder - his mother had allegedly committed suicide - which is rooted in the greed of Adrian’s two sisters and of the cold indifference of his, now deceased, father, a WW II hero and founder of… ?. In his perpetual strive for justice Dave has journeyed to several countries such as England and Holland, now residing in Belgium. The fact that Adrian, born with a "silver spoon in his mouth" as the son of the heiress of a wealthy French Champagne dynasty, had depended on financial aid from the Social Departments, both in Belgium and in Holland, clearly shows how far the portrait ignorance of government officials can proceeded when bound by orders from "the top", the highest ranking ministers of State and even from members of the Royal Family.

The question arises why a wealthy man is reduced to perhaps a lifetime of poverty when the facts, revealed by criminal investigations, prove that the alleged suicide of his mother was an impossibility within itself. Despite such sound evidence, the Court refused to take action, both in the death case as well as in the case which is to reveal the whereabouts of the family’s tremendous assets, which are made of money, shares, and property, mainly in France. Although Adrian had proof of secret accounts in Switzerland to which the major part of the money and the shares had been transferred, the Court refuses to acknowledge this evidence to this date. As a direct result from this perpetual inactivity, the murder of his mother remains unpunished.

Disappointed by the indifferent inactivity of the Social System and betrayed by inactive or just incapable notaries, Dave Adrian continuous his fight for justice. Defying the fact that his life has been a roller coaster ride of forced removals, having no choice but to live with his wife and three children in a single room flat, the Man from Nowhere continues to fight for his right, which are so generously granted in the Constitution as well as in the Bill of Rights in just about every country in the western hemisphere. His unyielding character and his multi-talents have thus far enabled him to make enough money as a street musician for his family to sustain on. Supported by his wife Patsy, a woman of the same unyielding character, Adrian continues his attempts to raise the funds necessary to reopen both the murder and the family asset case. Help came in many different forms, though mainly - which is no wonder - rendered by strangers across Europe as well as in the USA and Canada.

Despite the tragic aspects of his live, Adrian refuses to give up, which turns him into a modern day Don Quichote, fighting judicial and governmental windmills. The attempts of the European countries to become as one on both the political as well as on the economic levels is of little help to Adrian’s cause, since the France Court firmly sticks to its decision that the death of a wealthy heiress almost two-and-a-half decades ago had been a clear case of suicide, and it therefore diligently "clings" to its verdict: prescription of a non-existent crime case.
