"I have always loved nature and it's freshness, from flowers with dew drops on the petals in the morning, to the steam rising from a pond at night. I try to capture in words, the wonderful sounds, and the simplistic beauty of nature," Kelley said. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(Free-Press-Release.com) February 2, 2012 --
In an recent interview with the local poet and author, she shed some light on what fuels her passion for writing, and at the same time, helping children in need. "I love to write to express myself, and I have an immense concern for dwindling donations in these tough economic times, to charities that absolutely need public support. People may forget about helping other people's children when they have lost their own job, their home, and much more. I think, through the beauty of writing poetry, which was done in 2004 by a collaboration of poets, which I participated in, in the publishing of a poetry anthology, "Sometimes We Dream," by Lulu.com, it was a wonderful idea and I want to pick up where that left off and add to it by submitting 1/4 of the subscription revenue from poets joining wordsandpoetry.net, to The St. Jude's Children's Hospital. It would mean so much to the caregivers and hospital administrators, knowing that there will always be support coming in, no matter what the economy is doing. How could you tell a child that due to less money for research, there is no cure for the illness they have, and probably won't be until the economy recovers? Right now, and in the past, they are being told and have been told, that medical science is working on breakthroughs, so not to give up hope. However, I know that kids pick up on the stress of an already precarious situation with the economy by listening to their parents talk about it. How can a parent not feel the fear which gets transmitted to the kids? That is why, if wordsandpoetry.net is a place where poets care about the future, and I know they do, well, it will certainly help this cause. Ms. Kelley further noted that during the times when her own daughter was struggling with an illness from birth to her mid-teens, she said: "I wrote poetry day and night when she was so sick and published my books of poetry as a memento for her that I cared and loved her, and to set an example that with perseverence, we can live through anything."
Charmane Rae Kelley, a local author, had her first fiction novel titled, “Red Eye of Justice” published by Publish America, LLLP of Frederick, Maryland recently. Charmane submitted her book in August 2004, for consideration by the publishing company. She was granted a contract by Publish America to publish her book in 2005. Red Eye of Justice is currently featured under “New releases” on Publish America’s homepage, www.publishamerica.com, and advance print orders are being accepted over the website. The official release date is March 17, 2005, and will be listed on Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com in the spring. The book’s description quotes, "A small New England town delves into the world of psychic phenomenon when it is faced with solving the mystery of the disappearance of two granite quarry workers. With the help of psychics, a smart bloodhound, and the courage of brave men, the story unfolds into a spine-tingling thriller of mystery, suspense, romance and justice."
