WHO I AM: My name is Charlotte Holt. My husband, Charles, and I live in Kingwood, Texas, the North Houston area. We are the parents of three grown children, who live in the Tyler and Fort Worth areas. We are the proud grandparents of three. My husband and I are greeters in our local church.
WHAT I DO: After teaching school for 30 years, I retired to teach and write for Him. Upon retirement, I taught a women’s Bible study for five years, using Kay Arthur’s Precept Upon Precept studies. Then the Lord prompted me to write full time. I love the Lord with all my heart and want to share that love with others. For a number of years, I gave books to others for them to read of God’s love; finally, I decided to write some of my own. It gives me the creative outlet I crave while satisfying my desire to tell others about Christ. I attend conferences, luncheons, and meetings with other writers in order to learn and fellowship with them. I served as president of Inspirational Writers Alive! in Humble, Texas for three years. I attend writers groups whenever possible. I enjoy fellowship with church members, community groups, and other writers. I enjoy speaking engagements, so you might find me speaking at a church, a senior group, a singles group, a writers group, or to a community service group, promoting my book, or just telling others about the Lord and His faithfulness.
WHY I WRITE: My main passion is to spread the gospel message. I believe through writing I can reach more people than by any other method. I enjoy the process of writing and feel the Master’s pleasure when I write. My purpose in life is to please Him. Like Jeremiah, “It is like fire in my bones.” I cannot be silent. I like to write across the genres: nonfiction, fiction, poetry, devotionals, articles, short stories and a few songs.
