Brenda Lacy is the proud author of two Published books, one different from the other in genre. Brenda Lacy was born in Kansas in 1971, and moved to Oklahoma when she was only 1 year old. Brenda didn't care for writing until she was about sixteen years old when she wanted to write a love story, and did so. Although, that book was never published as this was Brenda's first work. Brenda dropped out of high school to help her sister take care of critically ill daughter. Her sisters daughter was only expected to live for five years. She lived for six and a half years. Brenda married and had her first child Brittany, one year later her and her husband split up so Brenda knew that she had to go back to school in order to be able to raise her baby. Brenda took the college entrance exam and started going to Vocational School, while achieving some college credits as well. Brenda graduated with 3 degree's one in Administrative Assistance, Computer & Office Services, and Customer Service; with a 3.25 GPA. Brenda received 12 college credits from Oklahoma City Community College.
Brenda then met her second husband, and they had one son named Kyle. Brenda went to work after having an emergency C-Section, after only 3 months. Brenda went to work for a Trucking Company as an Inventory/Administrative Assistant. After working for the Trucking Company for only a year they closed the Oklahoma City office leaving Brenda jobless. After placing resumes in for a couple of months Brenda decided to try reaching for her dream of writing a book, and having it published. After two years of non-stop research,Brenda had her first Non-Fiction Historical Book published "The Leaders of a New Nation". This book was voted Book of the Week by the National Federation of Republican Women and Barbara Bush (No Child Left Behind Act)in July 2007. Brenda is very proud of this book because a great deal of the stories that are told come from within her own families trials and tribulations in living in a new nation.
Brenda's second book is a Book of Poetry, in which Brenda had compiled her poetry over the past ten years. She decided she would name the book "Conscience Theories"- A Journey Through Time. This book is near and dear to her heart because it helped Brenda to deal with divorce, love, break ups, death and much more.
Brenda is writing a second poetry book, to be Volume two of her first Anthology. There is no date in which she plans on publishing this piece of work. Brenda's second book was published in February of 2007.
