Greetings!
I am Ali Khaghani; “Together; Alone” is my third book in print, preceded by;
“Love & Lust/Combine & Combust”, and “Binding us Torn”. My deepest thanks to who hold this book in their hands and read my words, for without you, my readers, my words have no meaning.
Since it is customary for a writer to expand a bit about his origins I shall do my best to oblige, although I must warn you I am a notorious routine breaker. Here to satisfy any curiosities I shall humbly bow and provide you a brief synopsis of my history.
Born in Iran and unto Persian ethnicity; I have a heritage rich in poetry, where the likes of Rumi, Hafez, Attar, and Khayyam, laced Persian poetry, literature, and philosophy. Early I’d become a victim/beneficiary of circumstance, as a Consequence my life and family were torn apart by the 1978 revolution and soon thereafter a bloody war, making vagabonds of us all. Suddenly I was a modern day gypsy, one who’d benefit greatly in return by gaining small doses of multi-cultural values, and an acute sense of global awareness. My youthful lessons and values therefore became rich in abundance and vast in variety. Such prosper due to adversities and the sheer magnitude of sights and sounds during my most influential years of growth and development in time have lent me a distinct approach and diverse perception of life, and consequently my poetry. This sublime resource; rich in wisdom and emotional extremities has allowed me a unique sense of spiritual maturity. To me poetry has been a tool by which to ordain and manipulate the simple and ordinary semantics into emotional expressions. Experience made emotively tangible and universally synergized. So now without any further delay and with much love and utmost respect; I like to present my words straight from the source.
