The Armada Histories

A brief explantion of this epic space opera is probably impossible. In very simple terms it is the history of the first human psychic powerful enough to have an impact upon history. That said, There's a LOT more to it than that implies. The theme of ascendance, and what that means, is one of them. Exploring themes ranging from love and sex to religion and philosophy to good and evil and back again, work into that. Was it my intention to touch on so many subjects? Hell, all I did was write the thing, or channel it at least. It FEELS important, though, and really I feel like I only barely do it justice. There are bad points to all of this, though. Later volumes will make that clear enough, and I'll deal with that when I have to.

Armada Dawn is the first volume, an introduction that is in some ways pretty tame and ordinary. I will probably, at some point, analyze and break it down but I'm really curious what other people have to say about it first. Honestly I'm not sure what kind of audience I'll have, or what people will even think about it. It's my privilege as an author to smugly wait and shoot down all of the inane theories developed by critics and literary scholars. Watch a movie called Back to School, with Rodney Dangerfield, who hires Kurt Vonnegut to write a report on his own book (I think it was Vonnegut). Of course he flunks, since there's no a critic or scholar alive or dead who has any clue what was going on in an author's head. That's assuming the author knows themselves. You have to be a little crazed to be any kind of artist. I've lost sleep, not eaten, and gone more than a little nuts channeling this thing. I'd like an audience, yes, but really it's not even about that. It's getting it out of me, preserving it, and making it more than some disposable private pile of scribbles that might end up discarded. It is important, and I don't know why. Neither do my characters, who I'm probably closer to than most authors.

Armada Dawn
Armada Rising
Armada Reign

That's the first three volumes. I'll leave you in suspense about the rest

I could mention my other works in progress, I suppose, but they're not finished and don't have a publisher yet. There's one about vampires (how utterly original), one about a witch, one about...well, I'm not sure what exactly but it's weird and about three volumes. Then there are the back stories and side stories to this massive future history, a few fantasy stories, some movies and adapted screenplays...like I said, I might not live to complete much of it but at least I don't have to worry about writer's bloc.

Well, I've babbled on a while. At least I've done something with my website for now. It's just frustrating that I have such a clear visual idea of how so much of this should be and I don't have the artistic skill or tools to bring it to life. Other artists trying to work with me on it will probably quit because I'm so specific in the imagery. It would make a hell of a movie, though.

This first volume is nothing. Trust me. And remember, you've been warned.

Anyway, my overpriced and underexploited book is available online at http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?r=1&ean=9781424173228 I'm sure I have a devoted deeply disturbed audience out there somewhere.
