Background Information: Healing Sticks is Stephen's third book and you know what they say, "The third time is a charm." He is planning on writing a follow up book for Healing Sticks and is hoping that his other two books will be published as well. Stephen is trying to get Healing Sticks made into a motion picture in hopes it will help touch a hurting world with the love God has for each and every one of us. Stephen has written many short stories and three books. Stephen's first book is entitled, "Escape from Vietnam." Escape is an exciting biography and a brief synopsis is given at www.healingsticks.com. Stephen wrote parts of this book while in Vietnam, during his two trips there to visit and do research for the book. His second book is a fully illustrated children's book entitled, "Meet Haley Oats." Haley Oats is a story about Haley and her family that promotes family values and is just good-hearted fun. Stephen holds a United States Patent and is listed as an inventor. He graduated from a four-year Apprenticeship program with the Sheet Metal Worker's International Association in 1986 and is a licensed Journeyman. Stephen also attended a Trade School for one year resulting in a Journeyman's license in Air-Conditioning Service. Years later he went back to college for an Associate's in Applied Science Degree in Sheet Metal and Air-Conditioning. Stephen worked five years in the Aerospace industry. Starting in manufacturing, he then became an Expeditor for the company, handling a substantial portion of the United States customer base. Later on, in this same company he worked as a Final Inspector of foundry parts made for large corporations and military contractors. He has taken classes on Industrial Blueprint Reading and Military Specifications. In his "spare time" he also worked for a large state newspaper on a part time basis for seven years. Stephen graduated in 2004 with a college degree in Occupational Safety and Health.

Healing Sticks is the story of a man, David Clayton who is the son of a businessman who inherits his father's multi-million dollar soft drink company.
After visiting the Holy Land, Clayton falls in love with the people and the country, Israel. He hears of a legend that tells of the cross where Jesus hung was hidden. The healing power of the blood of Jesus soaked into the pieces of wood of that cross, and even when broken, has the power to heal any sickness or disease.
As Clayton begins his search for this holy remnant, his soul is seeking to find the One who died on the cross.
Imagine the aftermath of finding such a treasure? People being cured of life-threatening illnesses and diseases; a wild-fire spreading of the Gospel as people from all walks of life come to know the Great Physician and give their hearts to Christ. There would naturally be those who didn't believe the healing sticks were authentic, and would call them a hoax. Others would be desperate and use illegal means of obtaining a healing stick.
Stephen John French's, Healing Sticks portrays a vivid description about what would happen if the cross of Christ were to be found and discovered it had the power to heal. Although this story is a work of fiction, the truths found in God's Word are blended into the story in such a way that will inspire the reader.
In reading Healing Sticks, I noted the overlying spiritual message that God wants an intimate relationship with us. He created us in His image and desires our fellowship. (Genesis 1:26)
