Scott was born and grew up in Romulus, Michigan, where he and his sisters and
brother lived a relatively happy life until the death of his Mother, when Scott was almost 14. While Scott and his family struggled to
continue without her, Scott began using his imagination as a way to deal with his grief.
Over the years, Scott’s family and friends encouraged him to write down the stories he told, but he did not take the
advice seriously until after his death, on October 3, 1983. That day he was killed and brought into the hospital DOA, where he was
eventually resuscitated. After one month in a coma and another month in a semi-coma, he awoke fully, and began the long journey to
recovery, relearning even the simplest of tasks that we take fore granted. During his difficult and long rehabilitation his doctors
suggested that he write down the names of objects, and names of people that he remembered, and he began with that difficult task, and
hasn't stopped writing yet.
After his rehabilitation Scott concentrated his energies on English, grammar and creative writing classes and he appreciates all the help he has received over the years from teachers, friends, and family. He is thankful for all the medical help he received and especially thankful for God's Grace for allowing him to live through his tragedy and realizing his dream of seeing a book of his in print.
